The volunteers on the Environment Task Force of the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade spent many months creating an Eco-Checklist as a resource for businesses to evaluate their role in sustaining a cleaner environment.
The Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade formed its Environment Task Force in 2007 to provide tools, information, guidance and recognition to assist Board members to establish environmentally responsible practices within their businesses and at home.
In partnership with Durham Sustain Ability, the Board promotes and encourages member businesses to download the checklist at http://apboardoftrade.com/ and complete it in order to be recognized through our Eco-Certificate program. In March 2009, the Honourable George Smitherman, Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, recognized the Board and its members who have received Eco-Certificates in the program. 
The Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade’s mission is to encourage and foster free enterprise and economic development, as well as to support good government and create and maintain a positive business climate in the community.
